Privacy Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] (to be confirmed by the site owner).
Draft: the bracketed items on this page — the operator's legal name, the contact address, the effective date and the governing jurisdiction — are placeholders the site owner still has to confirm. Nothing here should be read as a legal commitment until they are filled in.
The short version
- We do not ask for, collect or store personal information.
- The site sets no cookies of its own and keeps nothing in your browser.
- Advertising is not enabled today. If it is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve ads, and this policy explains how to opt out — see advertising cookies.
- A privacy question can go to [CONTACT EMAIL] (to be confirmed by the owner).
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no mailing list, no comment box and no per-visitor profile. Quizloft is a set of static files: when you open a quiz, the page and its script are downloaded to your browser, your answers are scored inside that page, and the result is built there too. No answer, no result and no identifier is sent to us, because there is no server of ours to receive it.
The one thing the site can put on your device is text in your clipboard, and only when you press the “Copy link” button on a result page. That happens entirely in your browser.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies of its own, and it does not write anything to
localStorage or sessionStorage. Your quiz progress lives in the page
you are looking at and disappears when you close or reload it — which is also why we cannot look
up a result for you later.
Cookies can also be set by third parties once advertising is enabled; that is the subject of the next section.
Third-party advertising cookies and Google AdSense
Advertising is not enabled on this site today — there are no ad scripts and no ad cookies while you read this. The site is built to carry Google AdSense, and this section discloses now what that involves, so that the policy is already accurate on the day ads are switched on:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies — including the Google advertising cookie, formerly known as the DoubleClick cookie — enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- In regions where consent is legally required, advertising cookies are only set after a consent message — supplied by Google's own consent management tools, not by a banner of our own — has been answered, and that choice can be changed later.
- Your browser can also block or delete cookies; blocking advertising cookies does not stop the quizzes themselves from working.
Cookie settings and privacy choices
The Privacy choices link in the footer of every page brings you to this section. Here is exactly what that entry does, and what it does not do.
- Today: the site asks for no consent, because no advertising cookies are set. There is no consent banner on these pages, no consent script, no consent record and no third-party consent platform — nothing to accept, and nothing stored about a choice you made.
- Once advertising is enabled: the consent message is Google's own, configured in the AdSense account through its privacy messaging tools rather than built into this site. It is shown before advertising cookies are set in the regions that require consent.
- Changing your choice later: this footer entry is the site-side landing point for that. The control that actually records or withdraws your consent is the consent message provided by Google's tooling once the owner has configured it; until then there is nothing for this link to change, because it keeps no settings of its own.
- Blocking cookies right now: use your browser's cookie controls. The quizzes work either way.
This entry is a plain link rather than a switch, and that is deliberate: a button that appeared to toggle something while no consent system exists would be a fake. If it ever becomes a control, it will be because Google's consent tooling has been configured, and this section will be updated to say so.
Analytics
Visitor numbers are not measured at all today. If the owner turns on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it is a cookie-less measurement: it sets no cookies, does not identify individual visitors, does not follow you across other websites, and produces aggregate page counts only. Because it uses no cookies, it does not on its own require a consent prompt — but this section will be updated if that ever changes.
Who the site sends data to today
Nobody, by default. With the optional measurement hooks left unset, a page on this site makes no request to any domain other than its own. The only third parties that can ever receive a request from this site are the two named above (Cloudflare Web Analytics, if enabled, and Google's advertising services, if ads are enabled).
Children
Because no personal information is collected from anyone, none is collected from children either. The quizzes are written to be light-hearted and are not aimed at any particular age group; there is nothing to sign up for and no age gate to pass.
Where the operator is based, and your rights
The site is operated by [COMPANY NAME] and is governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION] (both to be confirmed). Since we hold no personal data about you, there is no stored record to look up, correct or delete. If you believe something about that is wrong, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
Visitors covered by a specific privacy regime — for example the GDPR in the EEA and the UK, or the CCPA in California — must be given the wording that regime requires. That wording is not written yet and is one of the items awaiting the owner (and, where they judge it necessary, the owner's legal review).
